Pura Vida! Our trip to Costa Rica

What a wonderful trip with had to Costa Rica this year! The main attraction was the arrival of my 2 nieces. When we arrived Giulia, Juan's sister's daughter was just turning one month old. Luciana, Juan's brother's daughter, was due to arrive any day during our trip and held out to make her appearance AFTER we left the country! My sister-in-law invited me to an ultrasound - so I can say I more or less got to meet her! Sammy meeting Giulia for the first time!
What a blessing to hold my precious niece!!!!

Celebrating my other nieces (Jimena) birthday. All the cousins decided to test out the cake without hands!

Rainy day trip to Terra Mall for a train ride.

Sleeping preciousness!

Sammy keeping watch over his little cousin.

Ben stealing my tres leches.

The boys with my best friend's daughter - Gianna!

Ben hanging out at Portantorchas with his old best friend from when Mommy was pregnant with him!

The boys at Tio (Uncle) Gianca's tractor showroom - every little boy's dream!

Now you will understand Ben when he tells you that he has a Tio Gianca that has tractor at his office "just for him!".
Little boy bliss!

Our trip to Costa Rica would not be complete without going to "Tito's (Juan's Dad) Beach!" The car was packed and everyone ready for the drive to the beach and the boys screamed, STOP!!!!!! We forgot to change into our beach shirts like Tito!!!!

Moto!
Off to the beach for some boogie boarding....

My oh my, those waves are HUGE! Especially to this Northwest girl who didn't grow up swimming in the ocean. All the time boogie boarding I was telling myself that this was normal and I was overeacting (like normal). Truth came out after the event. Juan admits, "yeah, those waves were big - if we had more days here I wouldn't have gone today..."
Ben catching a wave....

It's a sand monster!
